Spotlights

We love our volunteers and donors. Below is just a sampling of individuals who are making a huge difference in our community.

Nancy

After retiring as an occupational therapist a few years ago, Nancy was looking for a new way to help her community. Nancy combined her passion for gardening with her commitment to helping her neighbors by volunteering at the Keystone Rice Street Food Shelf and encouraging her friends in the Ramsey County Master Gardeners to donate fresh produce to Keystone’s food shelf.

“Donating fresh vegetables is our way of giving back to the community. At the food shelf, I’ve seen that so many people really love fresh produce so whatever we can provide helps make their life a little better. It certainly doesn’t solve a lot of problems, but it is nice to show a little kindness or go out of your way to do just a little extra for people.”

We always welcome donations of fresh garden goodies at our food shelves! Click here for food shelf locations and donations hours.
