A few years back, when Shonda was busy working long hours at two jobs to support her three children, she figured out all kinds of ways to stretch her dollars. She made a budget. She froze leftovers so food never went to waste. Those strategies are still helpful, but making ends meet is much harder now that she relies on disability benefits and food stamps due to health issues. One thing that really helps is Keystone’s food shelf.
“I’m on a strict diet because I have diabetes, and the produce they have is the most important thing to me,” Shonda explains. “I eat a lot of produce and it’s not cheap at the store so I get as much as I can’t and what I don’t use, I freeze for later.”
You make it possible for Shonda to have the nutritious food she needs to continue on her path of stability and healthy living. Your generous support of Keystone provides stability for so many people in our community.
