This year, we are witnessing a stark rise in the number of participants at our food shelf and in our food programs. The summer season, a time of heightened need for food support, is upon us. With schools closed, many children are missing out on the meals they receive during the school year, leading their families to turn to food shelves like Keystone for sustenance and support. The combination of children being home, more families facing economic hardship, and soaring food and gas prices has created an urgent and unprecedented level of need.
With a gift to Keystone this July, you can make a bigger impact in addressing hunger in our community!
Please consider making a financial contribution to Keystone’s food shelf programs during the month of July and help those who rely on us this summer for their daily food needs. The more you donate, the larger our Keystone’s grant from Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless will be. The challenge funds will proportionally match your donation. Your financial donation will go further due to our buying power. We can purchase food from our food bank for pennies on the pound.
About Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless: Since 1986, Open Your Heart has targeted millions of dollars to strategically fight hunger in Minnesota. Understanding that those who benefit from food shelves, primarily children, need more fresh produce and other nutritious food, OYH focuses on investing in infrastructure to allow food shelves throughout the state to regularly stock and distribute fresh and frozen foods.
